About Eve & Nate

My photo
Dana
Remarkable collection of letters & telegrams from Nate, a traveling salesman. To his fiancee, Eve, all mailed from the U.S. Midwest. During the 1930s to the 1940s & 1950s, when Nate worked for ready-to-wear dressmakers, pitching their fashion lines to established stores. He quickly tired of life on the road, & being away from his Dearest Eve. He also lost patience with dressmakers not keeping up with the newest styles. Hard to make a living selling dresses that 'modern' women no longer wanted. This blog shows their life in correspondence. Not in chronological order, but as I run across the most interesting events. Or letterheads! I'll include dates when I find them.
